Hi.

Hi! I’m Nicole. I’m the mama of two sweet littles, the wife of a great guy, and a former event director at Brides Magazine. But because no one can be defined by any one thing, I’m letting a few of my other interests do some of the talking: cooking, photographing, writing, baking, aspiring, planning, dreaming.

Life Update 2016

After a two-year hiatus and more than a one major life change, I’m ready to write again. I might not even have any followers left, but well, that’s okay.

Since I’ve been away, Brian and I bought a house, moved to Red Bank from Hoboken, and—most exciting of all—had a baby!

This delicious little lady is Madeleine Grace, and to say that we are head over heels in love with her is no exaggeration. She was born on September 17, 2016—nearly one year ago—but I have trouble believing she hasn’t actually been here my whole life. She fits like a missing puzzle piece I didn’t even know we were doing without.

And as if moving, buying a house, and having a baby weren’t enough life changes, I decided to resign from my wonderful event planning job at BRIDES Magazine to stay home with M. That’s right. I, the independent, career-focused, Manhattan-loving Condé girl couldn’t bear the idea of leaving my perfect little bunny and chose to become a stay-at-home mama. Luckily, I’ve been freelancing from home for the magazine so I’m not totally out of the loop. But phew! Talk about major changes.

I know I’ll have more to say on motherhood down the road, but this won’t become a mommy blog (there are plenty of ones who do it way better than I ever could). So for now, I’d like to get back to the root of this blog. I’ll be talking about food, beauty, and lifestyle topics that make me happy. And since I’m no longer in the big city, I’ll just say I’m focusing on savoring pockets of sweetness in a sometimes bitter world. I hope you’ll join me.
