Perfect Guacamole
It’s the first week of fall! And I’m really excited for cooler weather and everything autumn themed. By now, you know my feelings about football season (and if you don’t, let me refresh your memory here and here). But because I know a whole lot of people either love football (no judgement!) or will at least spend an inordinate amount of time watching it over the next few months, I thought I’d share the recipe for my favorite football food: guacamole.
This recipe is creamy, spicy, and citrusy, and honestly it’s so delicious I put it on everything. Oh also? It isn’t my recipe. It’s Brian’s. He’s the Guac Master in our house and literally makes it for our parties, friends’ parties, and sometimes just as an afternoon snack. It’s one dip I wholeheartedly adore and it’s so simple I almost hate to call it a recipe. Hope you love it as much as we do!

Brian’s Spicy Guacamole
Serves: 4-6
Prep Time: 2 minutes
Cook Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients:
3 avocados
½ medium onion
1 jalapeño
1/3 cup chopped cilantro
juice of 1-2 limes
kosher salt
Using a mortar and pestle (or a cutting board and sharp knife), pulverize the onion, jalapeño, and cilantro, pouring the lime juice over the top and crushing to combine. Add the pitted avocado to the mortar and continue to mix, mashing the avocado until creamy (I always like to leave a few lumps!). Season to taste with salt, adding more lime juice as needed. Serve immediately.
